The Sella Pass is a high mountain pass between the provinces of Trentino and South Tyrol in Italy.It connects the Val Gherd?ina in South Tyrol and Canazei in the Fascia Valley in Trentino.
The Sella massif was actually a prehistorical coral reef.
The Sella pass is a famous mountain pass located in the Dolomites. It connects the province of Trentino and South Tyrol. A very known and famous attraction of this place would be the Sellaronda. It is a carousel of 30 km with a drop of over 3000 m in descent served by ultramodern lifts. While driving on this pass you can admire the Sella Group, Sass Pordoi, the Marmolada, Sasso Lungo and the Odle peaks.
The Sella Pass is the third of seven Dolomites Mountain passes riders cross in the annual Maratona dles Dolomites single-day bicycle race. It is also on the route of the Dolomites Gold Cup Race.Every Moto cycler who ever drove on the Sella pass was satisfied.
The panoramas are breathtaking and this pass is clearly a firsthand connection to nature. At some point the road goes into a mixed forest and after some twists you reach the Wolkenstein village. This pass is a starting point for various trip, mountain bikes trails and during winter the Sellaronda ski tour.
At the foot of Sassolungo there is Citta dei Sassi (City of Stones). It is quite a stone labyrinth, especially liked by climbers.
